I said back to him

Ohh yeas I am pretty sure, but let me make a thread, I have read before on oc.net that most people just get e6400 since they oc past and just as well as e6600 and they cost WAYY less, and with the saved money I think you are gonna need a better powersupply because those 8 series cards are MONSTERS!!!!!

So am I right about him being able to oc a e6400 instead because I think he should get that and put the cash into a better powersupply. Also would that heatsink fit his mobo because I know that 120mm heatsinks dont alwase fit.

Thanls guys you helped me build my sig rig last year and now I hope you guys help me build his rig this year.

P.S. YOUR GREAT!

Not bad, but I'd get faster RAM. Those DDR2-800 Patriots are monsters.

yeah, tell him to save the cash and buy either a Silverstone or PCP&C 600w PSU.

and go with an SATA hard drive instead of an IDE hard drive. and does he want the armor with a 25cm side fan? good investment. and get better ram.

If you want to save money you could just get a DS3. Awesome board, only $140, and for the S3 (no performance difference, just construction: non-solid state cpacitors) you only have to shell out $100.

But is it any good for overclocking because I think that he should just go with the e6400 and correct me if I am wrong because it can overclock and become faster than the e6600.

HandsomeJack why did you have to get a conroe rig you know I am an intel noob JK

If he gets good ram and a good motherboard their won't be any overclocking difference between a E6400 and E6300. I suggest he gets some Buffalo Firestix for his ram as they are awesome overclockers and comparatively cheap right now. Also that powersupply will do just fine. You could actually get away with a less powerful one.
