I probably won't be putting in as much gaming time as I did before, but don't want to go economic in that area. I've been a bit out of the parts loop for a while, but have done a bit of research in the past several days. I'm shooting for a higher end machine and price isn't the BIGGEST issue if it means better output. I won't break the bank though.

Here are my ideas so far:

CPU: Intel Core i7-4770k
MOBO: ASRock Z87 Extreme6
RAM: G.SKIll Sniper
GPU: EVGA GTX 760 FTW 4GB

Notes:
In regards to the Mobo, I was considering the Asus Maximus Extreme VI or even the formula, but arrived at the ASRock. Thoughts?

I plan on overclocking a bit.

I used to be a Radeon guy but have had tons of graphics driver issues over the years and just want to try something new.

I want the ability to expand.

I plan on buying a new case. Any suggestions? Cable management is a must have this time around (rookie mistake last time)

I have the storage/monitors/keyboard/mouse/etc

Thank you for any suggestions or ideas you may have!
Looks pretty good. Great motherboard, though for LGA 1150 I personally prefer the Asus boards due to their immense feature-set. That ram is fantastic, I keep buying it because it keeps working haha. As for the GPU, go for a Gigabyte or Asus branded 760 or 770. They get great overclocks and are great in sli. I would normally suggest an HD 7950 or 270X but you can't really buy one as of now due to litecoin miners stealing them all haha.

For the case, the Fractal Design Define R4 is a fantastic mid-size case. For full tower, I just got an NZXT Phantom 630 and I love it. Absolute delight to build in. A good, in the middle, case is the HAF 932/Rosewill Thor V2.

For the PSU, go for something like a Rosewill Capstone/Tachyon or a Corsair TX/AX series (they are usually on sale right now so I dont want to hear it Shilka wink.gif [jk] )

Gigabyte M/boards are good and have good rma.

Case wise i would check some of the reviews on something you fancy - and hey, know what you mean about cabling. It seems that manufactures are just getting the gist that we need space behind our M boards

Fractals cases are nice - air cool or water ? thumb.gif

I'll probably do a bit more research into Ati vs no idea.

I plan on air cooling for now. But would love to do so in the future.

I really like my Fractal Design Arc Midi R-2. It runs quite, has three pre-installed fans with a controller and lots of space for cable management. Filters on the all the intakes and it's easy to keep them clean.

Update:

I'm going with the Radeon 7970 and Asus Maximus VI Formula

I need some advice for a power supply.

Here's one from SeaSonic I was looking at. Its modular, 750 watt, 10 sata, 6pcie 6/8.

SeaSonic - a good psu manufature - if they give out such good warranty's then they expect them too last thumb.gif

We have a psu expert in our midst - sure you will get some good advice from him thumb.gif

If you don't need all the expansion slots, I would go with mATX, nice case like the 350D and the maximus gene; I personally prefer the case being more portable and easier to fit anywhere.

Rather than the 7970, the 280X is the same thing, however 290 and 290X are also great value for money, with nice coolers being released shortly smile.gif AMD won't be much different to NVidia in terms of drivers really, I'd just grab whatever offers the best deal
