Thread Starter
so, i just put together my new comp and my E6400 is idling at 52 degrees celcius. Stock fans and heatsink. This seems pretty high to me.

so i figure that i should put some thermal paste on there or something. What do you guys recommend?

Use higher tha 90% ispropyl alcohol to clean it off or ArtiClean(Link) You also might try reseating your heatsink.

Above 55C will start to do it. So don't put load at the moment! I'd actually just recommend another cooler in general. The stock intel sucks!

Scythe Infinity is a great cooler if you dont wanna shell out the cash for a Tuniq but I would. Those things can take your OC up REALLY high.
