P4/P5Bdeluxe oc'ing

Thread Starter
Alrighty then, welcome to my thread.
P4 550
Stock FSB: 200
multi: 17
3.4ghz
BIOS 0804

so i try to set FSB to 231, mem to 462(231x2), Vcore 1.4, Vdimm 2.1, timings 3-3-9-12-6-35 (in order listed in BIOS i'm pretty sure) and then i save and restart. The Vcore, timings, and other things stay but FSB doesnt. CPUz (1.38) shows 200.6 fsb, 267 mem. How do i get them to stick? i want my OC!

However, in Asus PC probeII, it says that it's running at 231 and 3.927ghz. But when i run superpi, it runs barely faster than stock (probably benefiting from tighter timings.)

Have you installed AISuite? I remember the first time I tried to fiddle with my board, I changed everything in the BIOS and tried to OC with AISuite but stopped it and then in the BIOS and from there on, I couldn't OC at all.

Did you install it?

Are you saving the settings when you exit from the BIOS?

i only have Asus PC probe installed (for temps) but nothing else (i think...unless asus has hax) and i'm saving the settings when i exit. and wasn't the multiple restart thing fixed with an earlier BIOS? mine still turns on and off a couple of times before it starts all the way.

:why do you have your rig in your sig instead of in your system specs? i've always wondered that:

I'm puzzled as to why you can't see CPU-Z set to 231fsb. I've seen one more person having the same thing that happened to you and it did happen to me as well but eventually I got it to work, my suggestion, keep trying, reinstall windows, reset CMOS, reset RAM, take PSU out and reset CMOS.

Off topic: Why? simple, because I can.
