Did you use a black stain or black wood paint? Its looking really nice.

Are you going to put a glass top on it? (sorry if mentioned before)

I actually just used spray primer and semi-gloss spray paint. The paint didn't turn out as well as I had hoped, it's not bad from 5 foot away, but up close you can tell it's a big of a hack job. I started by painting my metal monitor mount framing with the spray paint and thought using the same paint on the box would be a good idea. I was wrong. I should have used a black stain with a wipe on semi gloss sealer. Oh well, live and learn. smile.gif

And yes, I have a full glass top being made for it.

Lay-Z-Boy + computer = pure awesome

I have a somewhat similar build in mind. 5x1P, bit further away but with a motorized lift system. The PC built into a side table is quite an interesting idea. I hadn't considered it for my PC and it will be a fun option to consider smile.gif

What sort of audio solution do you have in mind?

A motorized overhead monitor mount system? Like the Emperor gaming chair? I plan to do a monitor mount setup like that at some point in the next year.

For audio, I currently just use a usb logitech G35 headset. I keep looking for a good surround sound headset with discrete drivers and may go with the Razer Tiamat at some point. If I do, I'll go with the audio on the motherboard. I'm not that big of an audiophile really. I have a fairly load constant ringing in my ears so I just need decent enough sound to overcome that.

Quick photo update...

I've got the PSU, SSD and pump mounted. LEDs under the PSU and SSD. LED's are only lit under the PSU in this photo. Working on the motherboard next.

The emperor? Bit outside of my budget smile.gif Frankly I'd worry about stuff falling in my eyes looking up all the time... I mean just like a 'regular' 5x1P setup but with a TV behind it. Gaming/work = 5x1P, TV/movies = TV. That way I can use the same couch, speakers, room, ... Imagine a regular TV furniture just replace the TV with a 5x1P, and replace the wall with a TV that shows when the 5x1P goes down.

I'm not that big on headphones to be honest. have a 5.1 speaker setup with room on the receiver for 9.2. Have you considered tactile speakers like the e.g. the TST239 or a buttkicker LFE? I'm not sure if you can get them to work with a USB headset though. The TST239's will... render all frequencies (so always vibration) and the buttkicker LFE will render only bass frequencies over a certain decibel threshold. Depending on your setup you can use either in addition to a headset or use the TST's as a replacement.

Looking good so far smile.gif

The system is alive!

I'm getting windows installed for some pre-water cooling testing.

If all goes well, I should be able to start putting in all the water cooling parts starting tomorrow evening.

I'm just repeating myself now thumb.gif

The motherboard lighting looks amazing. I might try to do something similar with mine

Thanks for the positive feedback guys.

The tests ran all night last night and everything looked great this morning so tonight I'll begin the water cooling stuff.

Also, here's a photo of the lighting method I came up with. It's kind of a hack job, but it works. I think I'd probably just do acrylic sheets instead if I were to do anything like this again. I basically stuffed LED lighting strips into translucent white tubing. There's still enough gap under the motherboard for a little airflow.

Also Morencyam, don't feel bad about your desk. The photos hide most of the mistakes. Just be creative with your camera angles and yours can look better than it is also. wink.gif
