[Dreamcast] Sega Dreamcast Emulator For Android Released - Page 5

I can't believe sega went broke and nintendo continue to prosper. Some of the best games were on the dreamcast. Sega make the best arcade games. The dreamcast Was well ahead if it's time, better than the ps2 by a mile . If only people had supported it.

Oh I know, I was a nintendo fan boy back then but still LOVED the dreamcast, it got plenty of good titles.

Shame what happened to the Dreamcast, if only Sega would make a comeback and attempt to revolutionize online play somehow since it was the first home console to feature it, I've heard the story's from my siblings and online about how amazing it was especially for Phantasy Star Online, PSO2 seems a bit dull to me.

Shemnue would be cool to finally play, was to young to play it before, might just hook up a Dreamcast for that though.

O what I would kill for Phantasy Star Online again. It was the whole reason I bought a Gamecube and the modem for it. Poor thing got over 1500-2000+ hours on it just because of that game. Somehow I missed placed that disc, really want to find it since I been getting the urge to beat Dark Falz butt with a lv13 HuNeweal again. biggrin.gif

virtua tennis 1,2 (1 on pc, 3, 4)
skies of arcadia
power stone 2
soul calibur (native android)

crazy taxi (on pc 1,2,3 and native android)

Terrible for phones? Yes. Awesome for nvidia shield? Hell Yes. I'm playing shenmue pretty well with very little slowdown. Almost as smooth as Nulldc was on my pc which was pretty much flawless speed, I'm getting around 26-27 fps on average from the 30 fps that is standard in shenmue. Skies of Arcadia runs great as well and doesn't have the cloud glitches that nulldc had so far at least, only issue I've seen is some issues with prerendered scenes and that in the menu's the bottom of each choice is much darker but still readable. Just hope there aren't any game breaking bugs further into the game which is always possible on newer emulators.

Ever play Skies of Arcadia? I would say that's better than Grandia 2 and that's saying something because I really like Grandia 2.

Usually around a Gig. They did use a proprietary disk format though so you won't just be able to use your standard DVD/CD drive on a pc. You need a special cable to transfer the data from the Dreamcast to the PC.

Also just curious are you on the dev team for this PsyM4n? If so great job so far, can't wait to see how it comes along in beta and full release.

Yeah, I'm part of it. Although lately I don't really help much. Some other members of the team are on fire and do constant updates.

Something to note here is that Dreamcast games have variable frame rate and Shield is way too overpowered. The frame rate dropping on Shenmue with Shield is part of the game, not a speed issue.

Also, we support chd v4 images (from older mame versions). You can compress gdi images with that and save quite some space.

Lastly, although phones are not really comfortable to use to play, you can use something like a Moga pad and make those things something like an underpowered Shield, with extra backup battery.

Is there any better place to make suggestions? One thing is I think it would be good to make it so the game directory can go into folders deeper in the tree, as with GDI files it's usually each disk has it's own foider thus making it so you have to switch directories every time in the menu to select a new game, at least when I've attempted it so far.

Are you sure about it when using the latest version? It should search into dub-directories.

I'm using the one on the play store, is there a later version elsewhere?

EDIT: Hmm, works now. I swear it wasnt showing anything in the upper directories earlier.

Just curious is quick save and loading being considered in the future? Loving this though, having PSO on my shield is just plain awesome.
