Video editing $7k budget - Page 12

I agree with getting a MacPro... however for $7,000 INCLUDING you get nothing. Final Cut Pro and other great software offered by Mac will set you back $1,000... that leaves only $6,000 for a MacPro... what can you get?

Dual Xeon's at 3.0GHz
4GB of Ram
and a 7600?

8 GB DDR800 PC 6400 G Skill-998$
I do know that the apple 3d creation program works on linux , i don't know about Final Cut PRo.
If you're going mac, select the top model available.

it depends on how the build goes, we are used to adobe premier pro but we are all more than willing to try out avid, or premier pro.

mac's are reallly expensive.........
Edit:that is good news(jetser) Ithink , that Adobe Software is better than apple's, just my opinion.
I Sugest you the computer and use both Windows XP Pro and the linux that jester refered to , so you can have a really flexible number of software that you can use so that you can achieve the best results possible.

I personaly find the best thing for audio and video editing is on a mac (I own both a mac and a pc). I use my pc a lot more than my mac however it is much better to do all the fansie editing stuff on a mac. Why do you think proffesional architects/video editors and the like use macs? Whatever you do, make sure you fold on it for team 37726
