and i will take your opinions into consideration but like i said it looks to me like we can get way more power for the money building a system. and about the "quad father" i think that would still all go through the PCI bus which would slow it down immensly

yup one of the first options we considered but it came down to $$$ it was going to be too expensive and we could build the same computer ourselves. we WILL be using some hardware such as the Axio system but you can buy just the card and software and then put it on your own PC

These RAID controllers are integrated onto the Northbridges IIRC and independent of the PCI lanes.
