3800+ oc

post #1 of 10
Thread Starter
I have an AMD Athlon64 X2 3800+ (S939)

ADA3800DAA5BV
LDBHE 0606APAW
Z888159B60461

right now i have it at
FSB=245
Multi=10
Mem=166(divider) runs at about 204MHz
HTT Multi= 5
HTT=1225

i cool it with a newly added tuniq tower 120!

I have heard of plenty of ppl who have pushed ther X2 3800+ to 3Ghz... i would like to try to do the same or at least go as high as my steppings allow(or wher ever else limits me). so any input from all of u expert oc's would deff be welcome... thanks.

you should lower your htt multi to 4 or 3 to allow you to go higher with the fsb , always try to keep your htt under 1000

yea. I'd acutally be amazed and jealous if a 3800+ got 3Ghz! Mine can only max out at 2.9Ghz

Keep pushing the FSB ,, ,, eventually youll hit the mobo's limit ,

Remember ,, memory can also stand in your way ,,, soo reduce memory frequency,, as u go up ,, on fsb ,, gl,,

ok so now i am running like this... http://valid.x86-secret.com/show_oc.php?id=153825 (my Vcore) is 1.45V. my problem is i am stable in memtest(17full passes) but in prime95 my system randomly reboots. first i was running a hht of somthing like 1250 and prime came up with an error so i set it to 250x4 so its running at 1000mhz which is perfect but instead of an error it rebooted with 1.425V vcore so i bumped it to 1.450V and it rebooted again. i dunno what to do now.... do i just need to bump up the vcore some more!? or what else could it be!?

ok so this is kinda a bump....

my oc is still as stated above, but my problem is that if i try to increase my fsb at all my ram will then become unstable and i cant figure out how to make it any more stable. if i go down to the next divider, it runs too slow and i dunno if it is really worth running my ram at somthing like 180mhz or slower just so my cpu can run one or two tenths of a gig faster.

Well if it allows you to get a higher overclock, its worth running the RAM slower. Have you tried loosening timings and giving it more VDimm so you can OC the RAM more?
