Stepmania = DDR Emulator

post #1 of 19
Thread Starter
Have any of you guys tried it? I have like a 2GB collection of music and themes and announcers (DDR Extreme FTW!). It's pretty awesome for the most part. Best of all, it's free! I'm trying to find a decent quality but cheap dance pad so that I can go all out with it. I need to work my legs while in college cuz I can't find time to work out anymore.

Anyways, here the link. Check out the links section for insane amounts of collections of songs, themes, etc. Please do go to the Filefront page for the most insane amount of add-ons for SM.

NOTE FOR LINUX (and other variations) USERS: It can work with all the open source OS's!

Sure have thats a great time killer I never got into the whole "I am going to the mall to dance" thing but the keyboard version keeps me sufficiently entertained.

I go over to the student union at the UofA to play DDR Extreme and in the groove 2 lol

This is a great time killer. Plus, there are all kinds of songs including the originals.

yeah man! had it for years. have like 4gb of songs. lots are bad though... oh well. best buy has a good pad for 30 bucks i think? 1" thick, forgot what warranty length is. honestly, with my experience, dont pricegrab or whatever you usually do to find a bargain. the cheap ones are the bad old pads, which slip around all over the place. sprring 20-30 bucks on a better one and you'll be happier longer. gl.

Dont bother, all pc pads are a full half-step off. You will never be able to hit the double steps or alot of the 1/16th or 1/32 steps.

Go with a ps2 version, but order a good pad online.

Stepmania makes lanning fun. I finished Indulgence perfect one time. Means nothing to people who don't know Stepmania.!!!
post #9 of 19
I haven't tried my ps2 to usb adaptor with my dance pad yet. Both games are really fun. Supernova costs 1.50 or 2.00 at the local Brunswick, though.
