way overpriced. needs to come down at least $50-100

if you are a gamer you are probably better off with a 780Ti at that price.

Yup it's what I did. I' am upgrading my PC. I wanted to up grade it in late October. I was researching video cards, since I have not kept up with the video card game since the 5850, and 5870 were the best cards. So I see the GTX 780, and r9 290/290x were top dogs. I heard Nvidia was releasing the GTX 780 TI, and it was gonna rape everything. So I waited to see what the TI was like. It's a great card, but I did not wanna spend that much at the time. So I was gonna get the r9 290(non X)best price to performance ratio. Then I heard about the cooler, and was told to wait for non ref models. So I waited it's been 2 months, and I see the r9 290s from 399 to 500-599, and the r9 290x for 599-700. I see the prices for the non ref were gonna be 579 for 290 and 699 for 290x. So I just went, and bought the GTX 780 TI(for 575 long story on how that happened) no more waiting, and I have the best card out.

Yea i almost bought a R9 280X for $359CDN (to mine) then i realized that the 290 was $399 about a month ago...ill give it a month or so to see what happens with supply as non-ref boards start to come into the market.
