There is nothing to worry about. Practically every modern CPU waterblock contains a SS constriction plate in direct contact with the cooling fluid. My EK Supremacy is 2 years old now and I opened it up this week when I rebuilt my loop and there is no problem with the Nickel. Just use a simple corrosion inhibitor as most manufacturers recommend and there should be no problems.
The old problems with EK plating have been much over hyped and have become a folk lore of sorts whereby a simple problem that only caused an appearance issue with no functional problems gets turned into something that destroys other components or causes leaking or steals your girlfriend or other such sorcery.
Its also quite illogical because in a different situation XSPC produced a bay reservoir device that had an obvious design and materials defect that caused common leaking, leading to actual real damage and yet there was not the same indignant outrage in the community against the brand. Go figure.
The fact is EK is the biggest maker of modern parts with the biggest range of products, and one of the best support and warranties available.Edited by Jakusonfire - 12/23/13 at 4:40pm
