I see ebay accepting checkout after a while, they can either accept another form of payment, or they may end up making competition for them which'll see them lose out much more.

Google are going to start their own auction site, and as most people (including me) use PayPal on eBay I don't see Google Checkout being introduced.

I even use Paypal outside of eBay, just for the ease of use, and I know many people who do use it too, and pay the overly high fees, without realising that the Buyer Protection Policy only applies to people buying using eBay, and not if your buying off forums.

Well, "if" I have to pay an extra 50 cents to get rid of the stuff that I don't want anymore? Why not, I sure don't want any more stuff laying around.

Besides, eBAY is hurting their "power sellers" not the average user, like me. Selling something once in a while won't make such effect but it will for the poor Power Sellers. And I already saw the how on 20/20 about the bunch of power sellers that left eBAY and joined another auction site.

I don't know about the US, but if i buy something from anyone in paypal regardless of ebay or not you are protected. Just not using the same method as ebay. It's happened to me before.

Where does it end though? Its this attitude of complaceny that winds up costing us all money. A few cents now, a few cents later...it adds up.

And Ebay knows it can get away with it because theres no real competition. I hope google does open an auction site cuz itll drive down fees.
