Too hot? - Page 2

You need to set them in different folders I believe, and run one with Affinity to CPU0 and one to CPU1.

even when i put the cpu timings back to their original state, at 2.13, i still idle around 42 and have a load temperature (running prime 95) of about 57 c. HELP!!!
Seems your CPU is seated incorrectly. Or you have a high-as-heck Vcore. Try seating it, and putting everything COMPLETLY back on stock.

Download Orthos. It's like Prime95 but is multi-threaded and will run 2 threads from 1 program. It's great. Even tells you how long the test has been running, which Prime doesn't do.

My temps would hit 62C full load at 1.325 (stock) vcore at 3.0GHz.. now I run at 2.3GHz at 1.2v and full load doesn't go above 47C. Not too bad for the stock cooler..

Can't wait until tomorrow, my Tuniq is due to arrive, along with my Evercool VC-RE.. I hope it all comes tomorrow

ok. i downloaded orthos. im now running at 2.13, or stock speeds, with a vcore of a little over 1.2. As i speak im idling at 40c, and when orthos is on i run at around 54c. I am measuring these speeds with a freeware program called speedfan; im not sure about its accuracy as of now. I repeat these temps are taken with NO OVERCLOCK.

Download the program called Thermal Analysis Tool by Intel and report temperatures.

while under full load running orthos, my cpu's temperature is at 53c. Using fanspeed, my load temperatures never reached above 55c, usually staying around 53c. Overclocking didnt seem to do much to the temperature before, did it?

i now have orthos running, and have overclocked the cpu to 2.4 Ghz. Temperatures right now are around 55c according do Intel's thermal analysis tool. This still seems too hot. suggestions?
I will run my processor at 72 degrees C for benchmarks, so it isn't the end of the world to have temperatures that high as long as they are only there for a very limited amount of time.
