Higher binned chips and more L2 cache.

Back in the days of "EE" there was a larger difference than just L2 Cache.

I kind of wish the 5960X had something else other than just a bit more L2 cache and potentially better binning. Give me something more than just a number and L2 cache to inflate my epeen thumb.gif

EDIT: Imagine if they left the 5960X's QPI intact. Dual 590X in a motherboard? HOLY SHEEET

not enough uncles in world to make it worth their while to the motherboard manufacturers. if intel makes only 8core the 1k chip, the motherboard vendors will be writing red numbers for years to come. basically intel would decimate profits of motherboard vendors

Hmm...6 or 8 core Intel. That might be worth an upgrade. Do I need that power? Not sure about that but it does sound mighty fine biggrin.gif

There will be no 4-core haswell-e parts. That much has been confirmed by official intel slides. 6 and 8-core only for all SKUs.

I think he meant non-E as the 4-core for sub-350.

Is the Haswell-E release fiscal year Q3 or calendar year Q3?

A non E Haswell-E? You mean a non X Haswell-E? headscratch.gif

You're talking about the low end 6 core "5820"?

I think he means non-E Haswell as in regular Haswell ala 4770k.

Hey, let's wish they have hex core for $400, then move it to mainstream i7s and i5s.

I need a more compelling reason to upgrade from my i7 920.
