Intake Fan blocked by 3.5 cage, what now?

Case is the NZXT trinity. Heres a pic of my problem.

Front intake goes here

As seen in the below picture, the hard drive cage mounts right infront of the fan, seriously restricting any possible airflow to the case.

I have 1 floppy drive bay that is occupied by a floppy (need it for bios flashes ect). So is there anything i can do about that? Anything you guys have done? I dont want to cut out holes in the cage as i may add other hard drives that will need to mount there aswell.

Still gives you airflow...

Believe me the exhaust will help pull that air through...

If you see the 3.5 cage it is almost completely solid. I guess the air is stiill entering the case but it isn't getting pushed to the mobo/other parts that run hot.

I'm in the same position as you are only my intake is covered the same cage and also by my hard drives unless I want to buy or fabricate brackets to hold them in the upper bays like optical drives.

On the plus side, the fresh air would keep the drives nice and cool.

Cut out the front and rear parts of that cage with a dremel or so that there is better airflow. Or just don't use it about put your 3.5" drive there anyway. Also, you could mount a Silencer on it and put it in a 5.25" Bay. Quieter, too, then you can take out that cage all together.

I was thinking of putting it in the 5.25, whats this thing you speak of that allows that? I might look into it. Like i said, i dont want to do any cutting.

They probably put that there for people who have a big array of disks in their case, then you can have fresh air being drawn over the disks to stop them getting too hot.

Intake is not as important as exhaust

rofl, not as important? tell me this then.. if you have more exhaust than intake whats cooling your cpu and gpu? nothing you have dead air. .. pulling cool air into the case is more important. And you need the positive air pressure from the intake for the exhaust fans to have any effect. I have the stock amd heatsink ( lapped ) i have 1 120 intake 2 80mm intake 1 120 exhaust and 1 92 for exhaust .. my case temps are 22c my cpu core temp with 1.55 volts is 32c . with the stock HSF. its all about the flow

Not true. What you are doing with an exhaust fan is dumping the hot air out of your system. Negative pressure will draw air in through all the gaps in your case such as vents.

No case fans installed, but the small power supply fan is providing some exhaust. Youch! These temperatures are too high, especially the CPU temperature.

The 120mm exhaust case fan of the Antec Sonata computer is added. As the readings shown, an exhaust fan is quite important.
Intake will help, without a doubt, but its not a necessity. Ok, so its balancing the pressure and reducing dust, but the actual air getting took in doesn't get any colder because its getting pushed by a fan.

SilenX Luxurae Hard Drive Silencer
or
Nexus DiskTwin Hard Drive Noise Dampener

You peel off the covering of the adhesive tape, stick the "finned" part on each side of the Hard Drive. Put the Hard Drive in the little case and slide it into a 5.25" Bay, this cannot be done to a Floppy Drive, because you need to acess it. However, there is something for that, too.

Lian Li 5.25-3.5" Converter

You take off the cover of one of your 5.25" bay drives, install this, and slide your Floppy in place. Now, you can remove your bottom cage; increasing airflow and hopefully lowering temps.
