Yamakasi DS270 AH-IPS Monitor 2560x1440 - Page 40

Does it really matter what the input lag and response is for gaming?

I play competitive FPS and I don't really care about hardware. Skill is something you can't buy.

You wont have much of advantage this monitor is pretty close to CRT level in terms of response time, also GL it will be a few years where you can actually pull 120fps in BF4 or any type of FPS at 1440p

Unless you are gaming at 120hz then there might be a slight advantage from what i remember back in my CRT days but to me its not worth it like i mentioned above plus this monitor uses AH-IPS much better than Qnix Samsung PLS

oh ok well if you read the reviews AH-IPS is a better monitor regardless if it is calibrated than Samsung old PLS in the Qnix or catleap. So good luck with that

ok but is possible that anyone knows the input lag of this model ?

6ms with just DVI-D .
If you start adding more inputs it will go up.

To tell you the truth these korean monitors at 6ms beat out almost every IPS on the market besides a crappy TN

Qnix is supposed to be around 2-3ms , I never noticed any issues with FPS gaming or anything resembles ghosting with the DS270

Get the Qnix if you can put up with inaccurate gamma color shifts and overclock to 96-120hz and hope your monitor doesnt die or get the DS270 with a better and newer panel that is has newer technology built in and go with 60hz

I have a GTX 780 ti and could care less about 120hz , as long as the panel has a low ms you are fine. Anything around 6 ms or lower is fine and most people wont be able to tell a difference in my opinion

I agree with Unrealcpu on this. I have tested a ton of Korean monitors and IMHO, they are awesome for gaming. I actually had a Trinitron CRT before all this and few TN panels. I will never go back to TN or anything similar..
