Seagate 1.5GBps to 3.0GBps - Page 2

When I took the jumpers off of my drives (2x in RAID 0) in my C2D system my benchmarks almost doubled. It was after the install of the OS for the record.

The only reason the jumpers are there is becuase not all motherboards are capatable with SATA 2. Although, the diffrence in bandwidth from SATA I and II, it is close to absolutely nothing. Removing the jumpers will increase bandwidth, but will not be a noticeable change.

You don't need to reformat. I did the same with my Seagate 400GB Perp Tech and it went from 150 to 300 instantly

wow, I didnt even know those jumpers were limiting the bandwidth.

my Seagate SATA3.0GB HDD is just bought was OEM from newegg so it didnt come with a box or manual.

Pulled that jumper off after reading this. no noticable difference here either.
