I have a formula-z motherboard and a 8320 cpu. My question is: will the pc post after getting 16 gb 2133mhz, 4 sticks?
I heard that the 2133 mhz frequency might make the pc no-post as it's incompatible with the 8320 stock ram speed. I do intend to overclock the cpu.
There have been several people able to get 2400 4 sticks of ram.. 2133 should be doable. you may need to bump up the cpu/nb volts a tad to get it stable
Technically the speed is not in the QVL however I run 2133 cas 8 8 8 24 (only 2 sticks though) on my Sabertooth. I can also get Cas 9 2400 to run. I just don't have any more ram that can clock that high to test further.
Your board is the step up from mine and should be able to fully handle it. You may need to go in to the DIGI options for the RAM and up the strength to handle it. But I am confident that 2400 would work
What cas RAM, as most are 10 or 11. The reason why I put my timings is to show that the IMC of these chips are pretty strong. 2133 Cas 8 for a daily use i very good
