UBERNOOB please change your name to UBER1337! I was under the impression that the cache was REALLY important. But if you've seen the benchmarks and say its neck in neck.. NICE! I trust you because your rep. You are saving me so much money and now with the money saved I can RAID! It has always been my dream to RAID 0 since I saw my friend load a BF2 map in like 2 secs.

But which should I get? E6300 or E6400?
Working Great!

I'm not going to overclock them - I'm going to leave them at stock with stock heatspreaders and everything. I know that the DDR2 1000 4-4-4-5 kit is better since it has a higher speed and tighter timings. I was just wondering about the actual chip. Thanks Chozart!

I'd get the E6400 if you really want to overclock, due to the more multipliers, and thus, more options and ways to overclock. Also, for raid what will you be using? Seagate Barracaudas? Western Digital Raptors?

Would the seagate still be good if I only got one at first for non raid?

Yeah. I'd get the Seagate Barracudas, however, only the SATA 3.0GB/S Perpendicular Recording Technology ones. So, that'd be the 250GB and up.

2xSeagate Barracuda 7200.10 250GB SATA PRT = $160 for 500GB

The Seagate's are a great value, and when they are in Raid-0 they are also very fast. Oh, and do not forget to pickup a Floppy Drive so you can Install Raid Drivers.

Yup, you need a floppy drive for raid (generally). And you do not need to install the floppy drivers if you only have one.
