IMG_20140101_191419.JPG 874k .JPG file Hello Everyone,

I just finished installing Accelero Xtreme 3 on my r9 290 video card. After installing it on the pci slot, I booted the rig up but I am running into an unusual issue. Window starts booting then all the sudden my Monitor says its going into POWER SAVER mode. I have tried many times to restart but still same result

I have check to make sure all wiring is correct, even tried different slots but no luck. I completely removed the new r9 290 and used one of my other cards from the 2nd rig and that works fine. My system boots up perfectly. So, this leads me to believe there is something I didn't set up correct with the r9 290 w/ Accelero Xtreme 3.

Any suggestion are appreciated!

Verify non of the heat sinks are touching anything they shouldn't be on the board.

boot to safe mode, then uninstall the r9-290 from device manager. Reboot, and let windows autodetect. you should be good to go after that.

The window boots up fine in safe mood and then I uninstall r9 290 from device manager. Then it asked to restart to finalize installing the drivers for r9 290 again. Once I say hit restart, it goes into the same phase again. A BLANK SCREEN AS BEFORE.

This is actually a follow up issue I am having, the card start working fine until this happened. I have even reinstalled the entire OS.

Try DDU - if that doesnt work (i had issues where even DDU could not make for a clean reinstall) - try and find a restore point where it worked last.

Youre sure temps are ok and the heatsink is seated properly? Your power connectors are all good?

The issue isn't uninstalling the drivers. The issue is once OS reinstalls the drivers and it asks to reboot, then the window logo comes up and a black screen. I really do not understand it at all.

I have looked at all power supplies and confirmed that the Accelero 3 is installed correctly as well.

I also have problems where BIOS looks fine, Windows boot icon looks good, Safe Mode looks ok - but when it goes into normal Windows i get a garbled screen - and usually its either not seated in the PCIe slot firmly, or the DVI cable needs to be tinkered/seated properly.

Did the card work with the stock cooler?
