290x VRM1 High Temps EK waterblock - Page 5

I just finished installing this setup yesterday with the extreme pads on my pair of 290x's.

What are you guys using to view the VRM temps? I tried to mine on these just to push the cards a bit and it pretty much bluescreened, might just be my settings. I used the beta drivers and was able to play BF4 with full everything on Eyefinity. I doubt the drivers are optomized for this as I'm only doing about 60fps with vsync off.

I'll report on the temps when I get home from work. I don't think I saw temps go past 45c playing BF4. This is what I see from Asus GPU Tweak.

GPU Z is the only program I know of where you can read VRM temps. Make sure ULPS is disabled as well because you can't see vrm / voltage / vddc in if ulps is enabled.

HWInfo64 will display these temperatures and many, many other specs for all/any of your hardware.  If you use HWInfo and MSI Afterburner RTSS you can display any of the sensor readings, in real time, in your games.

I have mine setup to display CPU temp per core, Average CPU Load, RAM usage, GPU load, along with GPU core and VRM1 temperatures.  I'm at work presently, I can give more information after I get home if you want it.

Ok, here's what I got.

GPU Temp: 43c
VRM Temp1: 57c
VRM Temp2: 33c

Running Furmark. I have two large RX 480 radiators cooling this system. I'm running dual R9 290x's. Both watercooled. The 2nd GPU is colder at 39c with VRM's at 36c and 29c. I dunno if furmark is even pushing that video card.

Definitely worth the money.
Small update. I ran Furmark again focusing on 2nd GPU and temps are identical. These pads are really good. Expensive but worth it.

In a last ditch suspicion I pulled the loop off the waterblock (that was fun) last night and pulled the block off the card. Sure enough the Fujipoly extreme is maybe 2-3mm thinner than the stock thermal pads XSPC provides. I'm gonna say there was no contact at all, as I couldn't see any impressions on the Fujipoly.

I couldn't find a definitive answer on it, but I decided to stack another strip of the Fujipoly.

I ran Heaven 4.0 for a little over an hour last night and the highest temp I saw on VRM 1 was 61C!!! Success!

What a long, strange trip it's been.

So fun. Thanks for all the help guys!

wheww..good stuff!

Used pretty much all of it for 2 blocks. Now all I have to do is to get my mining set up on this but that's a different story.

I actually bought the other piece of ultra extremes they have the 60x25 I believe. It's not long enough for VRM1 so you have to make two strips for that but I have half left after applying it for 3 cards.

Ok i have 2 r9 290x with ek blocks in serial. I have the fujipoly ultra extreme.

Gpu1: Idle ___ Load
Vrm1: 36. ___ 45-50
Vrm2: 34 ____ 38

  Gpu2: Idle  ___  Load
Vrm1: 40-43___ 61-69
Vrm2: 36 ______ 42

This was while playing battlefield 4 i know the high range is expectable. The issue is should there be that much difference? I have 30st 360 in push/pull and a 240 in push. Id think if there wasnt enough cooling both cards would be similar. The water should be around the same temp.
