OPTY 165 stuck at 2.793Ghz ... Any Suggestions?

My Opty 165 is stuck at 2.793Ghz.

Here are current settings:

Ref Clk: 310Mhz
Mem Clk: 253.9 (5/6 Divider)
HTT Bus: 1860mhz
VCore: 1.34v
Timings: 2.5-4-3-6 1T
VDimm 2.82v

Currently running orthos to see how stable this setting is....

MAX STABLE CPU SPEED (WITH MEMORY MINIMIZED)

With memory at 2-2-2-5 2T, was able to get cpu to

310 ref clk, 2.792 mhz cpu, 199 mem clk [2/3 Divider], 36C, 1.34 vcore
320 ref clk, 2.880 mhz cpu, 160 mem clk [1/2 Divider], 37C, 1.39 vcore
330 ref clk, 2.970 mhz cpu, 165 mem clk [1/2 Divider], 45C, 1.58 vcore
** last entry was orthos stable for 1 15 minute run, but failed on another try

MAX STABLE MEMORY SPEED (WITH CPU MINIMIZED)

With CPU multiplier set to 6x, was able to get memory to

200 mem clk, 2-2-2-5 1T, 2.8 vdimm,
225 mem clk, 2-3-2-5 1T, 2.8 vdimm,
230 mem clk, 2-3-3-6 1T, 2.8 vdimm,
260 mem clk, 2.5-3-3-6 1T, 2.8 vdimm,
265 mem clk, 2.5-4-3-6 1T, 2.8 vdimm,
310 mem clk, 3-4-4-8 2T, 2.8 vdimm

Because of these results, I thought I would be able to run my cpu at at least 2.880mhz (320 ref clk), while running the memory on a 5/6 divider at up to 260mhz at 2.5-3-3-6 1T.

Computer wouldn't even start booting into windows at those settings. I then loosened memory timings to 2.5-4-3-6 1T, and reduced the ref clk to 315mhz. At those settings, computer began to boot and then froze. I then increased vcore to 1.4v, which got to the desktop, but only for a minute or so before the os froze.

I guess 2.793Ghz at 2.5-4-3-6 1t isn't bad, but does anyone have any suggestions on how I can get my setup to 3.0Ghz or at least a bit closer?

Try 3-3-3-8 1T@2.9 VDimm with the VCore at 1.4

Orthos failed after 1hr58mins. I have upped the vcore to 1.38 and am trying again. I have noticed my temps are about 1 degree C warmer at the slightly increased voltage.

Yeah, that'll happen. On Stock volts I can get to 2.8Ghz. I have to add .2v to get to 2.9 though and that makes my idle temp go up like 8-10C and load go up about the same.

I've been dual priming for 15 hours now though. Going for 24!

I am stuck at 310FSB on my 165 at 2791mhz, I cant get it to boot past that because of OC fail control with my new Crucial Ballistix 2gb DDR500 kit running 3,3,3,7 1t@ 6/5 divider 2x256mhz for DDR512 vdimm 2.8v, vcore 1.4v. I could go 312FSB 2840mhz stable with my old Gskill 2x512mb kit, so memory definately plays into it. I am still tweaking and researching but its rock stable and I love the 2gb setup, but i gotta keep trying to get a little more. Theres so much stuff to play with and i feel I will find a way to go higher, but I have read and learned tight timings arent everything and that mhz is king so maybe loosening up your timings and see if that doens't give you a bit more. Also your NorthBridge voltage could be upped a bit, that too might give you more.

Yup. Tighter timings aren't everything. The increase in speed will definitely make up for your looser timings. Just make them as tight as you can when you get that OC you want though!
