Yes that build was awesome, IIRC the big channel block thing was custom made though.

I researched a bit.. the 1x120 -> 3x120 was a typo deal.. you where right.
also the watt usage on the GPU when OCed IS that high tongue.gif if not even higher. saw a 400watt usage on OCed titan.. you where right.

Just thought I would come back and share my findings and redraw my previous statements smile.gif

Your build looks amazing, see if I can get my rig to look half as good as that then I will be proud. SO I decided to get 4 temp valves 1 for smb, then 1 for case then one for res in and then res out. I could be doing the wrong thing, I can always change the positioning when I start. So to the big question, which rad, fan and case. They all really rely on each others choice. I can't just say Ill get a few 560s and work the fans and case out later. What do I get first, dunno? So at least I know that it will be 480s and 120s or 560s and 140s. Wow, then when this has been decided and I have the fans the rads etc oh and the case of course, then comes the GPUs which I know sweet fa about. I think I mentioned I'll be getting 2 to start and then upgrading to 3 or 4 later this year. Once I have written this I am going to do some serious reading from the stuff you guys provided and MAKE THE DECISION. Thanks so much for the time and effort you have put into helping me. I thought the parallel v serial thing on GPU you mentioned is interesting and wonder if I need to prepare for it ow or worry about the 2 and then the 4 when i get them.

Res In and Out will be identical

You kno my feelings ion the 480 / 560 thing .... 36% more cooling and quieter

Also, check ya MoBo to see how the cards get stacked both w/ 2 and 4 .... will affect how ya plan ya route .... also.... new series cards are only 4 months away ... if planning move from 2 => 4 .... when will that be ? have to consider availability at some point.

Based upon what the time interval wud be ... that wud affect how I piped things if ya had just one loop..... if it was short, and the 1st 2 cards go in slots 1 and 2, I'd pipe them in serial .... then pipe 3 and 4 in serial when they arrive and then feed the two pairs parallel.

Of course the preferred way would be the separate loops example.....where 2 GFXcards each have their own loops...... then ya can build the one loop for the 1st pair in parallel and be done with it..... add the final loop when ya get the last 2 cards.

I wonder what I would search for. I actually have a close friend who has a plastic moulding factory who could do this for me. I wonder if it would be worth it? Looks great though!!

In terms of the MOBO, I honestly had 2 ideas the Asus x79ws (or something) and the flagship rampage extreme because of the ram, as this is as much of a ws build as a gaming one. TBH it is predominantly a ws build as I am using it for work and I would like to get into gaming I mean who wouldn't with this rig. So in terms of how they stack I have to make the finally choice first. I have been told that the ws MOBO is pointless, a stupid choice etc. and the Rampage extreme is the only way to go. I will check it out though.

Yes I know your thoughts on the 140/120 issue, they have recently become my thoughts also smile.gif I have done some reading and fowl that you are correct and even with my limited to no experience it just makes sense when looking at the findings. Anyhow, I wanted to ask when it comes to rads, although I had the 560s in mind, would I be OK to use the 420s instead. Only because I really think I am going to try and use the STH10 for a number of reasons but don't want to go the 120.4 route. I figure I would go with 4x420s. I know you mentioned that the size is somewhat irrelevant so much as the components you need to cool.

In terms of GPUs, I am probably looking at that time frame to purchase them anyway as you may know but I am purchasing the parts all separately and over a period of lets say 3-6 months. I intent on completing the components of the wc system first (obviously things like fittings will be hard to get exact but I will stock up and buy the rest at build time), and then case Hard drives, PSU, RAM, CPU and MOBO with the GPUs last. O'm already a month in and once I decide on the Rads, I'll buy them. I suppose by April I'll be just starting the build and can decide on GPUs. Because of the work I will be doing I had Quadros in mind but am noticing that gaming specific GPUs will work possibly better. (I hope I haven't just opened up a can of worm by saying that!!)

I know that having 4 GPUs will require a second loop and I guess I may not have a choice but get the TH10 so it's really a catch 22 I guess, very confusing, ARGHHHH

Have you looked at the MH10? It is the same width as the TH10 but not as tall. It fits under a desk, even with a 31mm extended top and casters on. You can always add a pedestal later on, too.

> In terms of the MOBO, I honestly had 2 ideas the Asus x79ws (or something) and the flagship rampage extreme because of the ram

I chose the x79 pro but the ws is a good choice, too. If the Asus blue goes with your build theme, that is.

edit:

if you're going with quad you want to go with the gaming series. They will do 16/x8/x8/x8 while the p79 blue series runs them at 8/x8/x8/x8.

And I thought I had it all figured out. I was so stuck on these huge ass cases and did not even bother looking at the rest. Just looking at the specs it really seems perfect. I am going to look into it a bit more but thanks a lot for the hint, a great one at that!!
