Help with encryption?

Hey there,

I am starting to accumulate large amounts of digital currency on my HDDs and with all this "NSA Quantum computer" junk I thought it would be a good idea to look into encryption methods since I have pretty much no experience with it.

I remember reading a story where this high rolling criminal was caught and his HDDs confiscated, but no one could crack the encryption to get the passwords for his Swiss bank accounts. They called in the FBI and all these special agencies and no one could do it.

So can someone please explain to me how I can encrypt my backup HDDs in a very secure way? Thanks!

Very long mixed passwords, with huge hashes.

Personally I'm using luks to transparently do the work on the server with diskless clients.

Maybe the question is

What program to use (or windows built in one) in order to encrypt the data on the HDDs, if its just with a password or something more...
