The trailer/teaser was an experiment and based on the feedback I've received here and elsewhere I doubt we'll do anything like that again. Learn and move on. However it did help me establish a working relationship with a musician who can provide some of the in-game music when the time comes, namely the more rock/metal themed stuff.
Indie games are where it's at right now, especially as a new company. I don't have the time, budget, or manpower for a big AAA game, and personally I'm sick of modern AAA games that have fantastic graphics but only mediocre gameplay. So I'm going for a more retro feel, where there's enough graphics to support the game but hopefully it's the gameplay that draws people in.
And as for gameplay, so far you've seen very little of what is planned. We have pages and pages of notes on stuff to add and I'll be periodically releasing some info about those plans to keep the community informed since much of it can't happen until after our Kickstarter. But as examples of some of the major features, we're going to support starship crews, exploration and combat on the surface of planets, a mining/resource-gathering system along with crafting, and we're considering a metagame where players from different empires can conquer territory from each other. Eventually I'd like to add some RTS and 4X elements allowing clans to build their own space stations and possibly create new factions/empires, but that needs to be very carefully planned to avoid spam, griefing, and other issues.
As for Star Citizen, I've intentionally avoided all news and media about it because I suspect Galaxious may be just similar enough for people to think I'm trying to compete. Any similarity is incidental. I literally know nothing about Star Citizen except that it's some kind of open world space game. I've heard it's very popular and as a sci-fi fan it pains me to ignore it, but right now I feel it's the best thing for me to do until Galaxious has been developed further.
Thanks for the feedback guys, it's appreciated, even the negative feedback.
