In need of a bracket for Aquaero 6... - Page 3

We are currently looking into this issue and we will change the mounting brackets so that this problem should not appear again with further series. Well, the problem is still a bit strange because we use these mounting brackets unchanged since the aquaero 5 series which is on sale since three years and we sold several thousands of them. So far pretty much nobody came back to us indicating any serious problems to install the device into a case.

Anyway, we see where the problem is and it will be fixed. At the moment I guess that the affected cases might have no or only very small tolerances while other cases might provide a bit more space - otherwise I have no idea why we never heard of such problems before. Customers that see no way to mount their already purchased aquaero can drop me a PM with their address so we can send them a new set of mounting brackets but please be aware that it will take some time.
Glad to hear your taking care if ppl in the end

Yes they would, because not everyone follows the standard rolleyes.gif Ever wonder why some devices slide in better than others? wink.gif

Then the fault would be the casemaker's... like all the complaints Corsair gets about things not fitting the 900D bays.

But them not using the proper sizing guides is completely AC's fault.

Look there are international standards. Here is the standard that governs the size of the 5.25 inch drive bay SFF-8551.

AQ failed to meet those standards and that's why they have admitted that they have an issue that needs to be fixed.

By my measurements (I'm not going to bother posting another fuzzy pic) this is correct.
The bezel is exactly to spec (148.00 mm), but the mounts are 2 mm (actually 1.95 mm) too wide. The distance between the mounting holes is the same as the width of the bezel; it should be 146.05 mm.

Well, apparently the AQ quality control is not looking at the physical dimensions, and only checking the function of the electronics then........ Almost 2mm runout is atrocious.

This is the same issue with mine. They are the exact width as the bezel.

For anyone that hasn't clicked on the above post go take a look. For those of us with case labs cases this looks like an item that we all may need at some point in the future.

Thx XNine
