Green LED on 7990

So the green LED on my 7990 is on,until I start playing games.Then it turns off.I'm getting very poor performance ,from 140 down to 30 fps on BF3 with alot of coil whine



1000W Gold Standard PSU
MSI 7990
AMD FX-9370 Vishera 4.4GHz Socket
16GB Ram
5TB & 60GB SSD
displaying @ 1680 x 1050
Mobo MSI 970 A G43

You can't really do anything about the coil whine that will fix it for sure (or not anything that I know of). But don't worry about it too much, as the noise may be annoying, but it shouldn't be damaging anything. About the performance, do you have the most up to date drivers (13.11 Beta, I believe)? And the green LED is the most simple thing. When it's on, that means that the card is in ULPS mode (Ultra Low Power State), which means that when the card is idling, the second GPU essentially turns itself off to save power. You can disable this, as it has been known to cause some problems, and the extra power it uses it minimal. Here's a thread about disabling ULPS right here on OCN.
