Help, system won't boot after installing Tuniq Tower

Thread Starter
Hey guys.. I'm in a bit of a situation..

So I ordered a Tuniq Tower and installed it today.. however, when I turn the PC on, nothing happens. The fans spin up to full speed but nothing is displayed on the monitor. I've tried both my x1950 pro and some old PCI card, neither gives a signal.

I've heard abou this problem before and is it something to do with the mobo grounding or something?

That would be highly unlikely because my mobo is mounted to the case using plastic push pins and has been since i got it, with no problems at all.

Another thing I notice, even with the 6 pin power cable plugged in firmly, the RED LED that tells you whether your gfx card has enough power remains on.

Please help guys, I'm really worried.. I need to get it fixed in like, 2 hours before my dad gets home or he'll be pissed off..

HEELP!

Doesnt the tuniq use a metal backplate? Isnt that touching your case? Otherwise I wouldnt know.

is the cpu installed j/k Make sure if it has one, if not just plug in a fan in its place, but check and see if you have a cpu fan. Some boards will not see one and not boot because of it.

Yeah the fan is installed properly. One thing I did notice is that the fan has two cables, I believe on is for a 'rheostat'.. on of the cables has a 3 pin connecter which I plugged into the CPU_FAN header on the mobo and the other one has 2 pins which I didn't connect anywhere. However, that was lodged under the mobo, so maybe that was shorting something out?

A system should still POST even without a fan on the CPU, but most likely the POST will generate an error until the fan rpm monitoring is disabled.

It does definitely sound like a grounding issue at this point. If the system doesn't POST with the mobo out of the case, then we'll need to go in a different direction.

alright im reinstalling the tuniq now.. i put the black insulating foam from the motherboard box on the back of the case, so that should stop any obvious grounding issues when I put it back in the case.

Alright, it doesn't POST when out of the case either. I suspect the Tuniq's back plate.

Put some foam on both sides of the backplate... Maybe that'll help with the mobo and case grounding issues. After all, the backplate only holds the monstrosity on.

Aye, do this as the Big Typhoon comes with a foam to be used on the back plates for the same reason. If you need any help on this matter, PM me or ask me for a screenshot.
