Are these temps normal?

Hey! First time poster, (somewhat) long time lurker. A few days ago, I decided to buy a new cooler for my PC, since it my processor overheated out of nothing (opening Torchlight, my CPU went to like 80c!). I've been wondering about my PC's temps. They're certainly better, but they feel a little... off.

I ran Prime95 for about 30 minutes in Large FFT in an ambient temp of 29c and got this:

Now, I've been Googling about this. I know that Core Temps do not provide accurate idle temps, but CPU Socket does. I don't really care much for idle, I'm much more interested in load. Why is it so low? I know the Coolermaster Hyper 212+ (as seen on my sig) is a very good air cooler, but can it really keep my processor that cool? Are these readings actually correct?

I've read many posts from here, AMD's support forums, and the alcpu forums, but I'm still not sure.

Core Temp's author recommends to make a +15c offset to provide accurate readings.

However, some folks at the AMD Forums mentioned that AMD Processors aren't accurate until 40c - 45c. However, in large FFT tests, I'm nowhere near 40c. Also, this user called "AMDforMe" suggests that you shouldn't do offsets of any kind, because even though you're going to get slightly more accurate idle temps, your load temps will be grossly exaggerated. Is this true?

I'm so sorry for talking endlessly about this. I'm just very concerned. I'm a first-timer when it comes to building PCs, so this whole incaccurate FX processor temp reads is getting to me.

52c while running p95, while on air is ok. I am assuming this is stock?

Yeah, this is stock. So the temps are fine? I'm just worried, since max temps for this is 62c.

Alright! biggrin.gif

However, should I take note of what Core Temp's creator says about offsets? I'm thinking of overclocking my processor, but I want to be sure that my processor's running in safe temps.
