Overclocking vCore Drops Under Load [? in OSX]

Thread Starter
Hey guys, not sure if there was an OSX sub forum anywhere (its been a while since I've been around here), but I thought I'd fire this off here as a generic OC question.

I raised my vCore in UEFI BIOS to 1.44v to push my i7-2600k to 4.7 Ghz - as you can see when I start a torture test, my temps rise, fans speed up and the vCore falls? Then when it becomes idle my vCore rises.

Just wanted to see if this is normal? Perhaps an OSX thing? I'm running an SSDT that allows me to reach these speeds (on 10.8.4 for those curious who do have Hackintosh experience)

This is normal and it's not OS-specific. It's called "vDroop".

It's a computer!

You're welcome!

For what it's worth, I don't think it's silly because you didn't know.

It's a computer!
