SteelSeries Sensei Wireless

SteelSeries has informed me of their new mouse, the SteelSeries Sensei Wireless, on Twitter. The page is new and it's up. Here's the link. Enjoy and discuss.

http://steelseries.com/products/mice/steelseries-sensei-wireless

As some of you know, I had issues with the input lag on the MLG edition of the regular Sensei due to their lack of updating the firmware to the latest Pixart one to fix the lag. The G500s, Taipan, and M65 suffered from the same issue on earlier firmwares according to multiple posts on this forum. Supposedly, they say there shouldn't be any input lag this time from a short conversation I had with them on Twitter. We'll see. Otherwise, this looks like an excellent ambi alternative to mice like the G700s and Ouroboros, but with a tried and true shape. Also interesting to note is the 50-8200 CPI range instead of what I would expect to be 1-8200 like they had in previous models.

ow well was to expect with there new ceo.

Quite a good move actually.
Its not a mouse that we would buy, but the grand audience will have a look at this and mabay buy it.
Expanding product range guess we have to wait till they release a mmorpg mouse with 10 buttons on the side wink.gif

And releasing this information before CES then rather at CES is also quite a good marketing move.

So Y sensei wireless 120gram.

Well steelseries is now officially joking us. Despite hating zowie's products... I think that's the only brand that still cares about gamers. Also Logitech, the other brands are just making mutants.

They makes mice that sell, should not be a suprise for anyone really biggrin.gif

They know what sells and what does not.

Is it sad for the few here on OC, yes sure but I doubt SS cares that much about minority that don't make them a load of cash biggrin.gif

So nobody on all of OCN mice likes this? You guys really do hate laser, don't you? lol dat 1-5% accel.

In my opinion it's about as close to perfect as you can get, unless you want to stick a tried and true optical sensor in there instead. I think this rodent would still be awesome as long as it doesn't have the "9800 lag".

120 grams, too heavy. I wish they would release a firmware update to Kana V2 that would lower the LOD and also maybe default the mouse to an 800 dpi native only. This way all the actual players can have a real mouse, while the casual players can buy the next flashy transformer mouse that they release.

If you would look at the mouse industry as an example of technology improvement you would think humanity was not capable of producing a nail. There is not a single "gaming mouse" that performs how it should, there are always some real tangible faults. We just want a mouse that tracks like the WMO at 800 and 1600 dpi with better cable, stable polling and nice feet. Is that too much to ask for the past decade?
