Looking for a new MOBO for my 965BE

Thread Starter
Well after some trouble shooting and info from other board members, it turns out my mobo is a POS. I am looking at upgrading and looked at the comparison chart of AM3 and AM3+ capable boards, so I assume I am looking for 8+2 VRM and heatsinked all over the place. The boards I have been looking at from this list

http://www.overclock.net/t/946407/amd-motherboards-vrm-info-database/0_100

are either out of stock and unavailable as far as AM3 goes. I do want something that I can upgrade potentially and something that gives me plenty of headroom for overclocking. Is it worth getting an AM3+ board? I haven't seen many new AMD processors worth jumping at which pushes me towards an intel board and new processor to also obtain PCIE3. Does anyone have any suggestions? I am torn between AM3 and save some money, AM3+ if there are any processors worth it, or just throw it all out and get an intel set up.

Current set up is....

-AMD Phenom II x4 965 BE C3 125W at stock clock for now and way undervolted so my board doesn't combust)
-Samsung 840 EVO SSD 256GB
-Hitachi 500GB
-MSI 870A-G54
-EVGA GTX 660
-Crucial Ballistix Sport DDR3 1333 4x2GB
-CM Hyper 212 Plus using x2 Corsair SP120 in push/pull config
-Corsair CX750M
-CM 430 ELite with Corsair x2 AF120 and x1 AF140

Currently looking at

Is this a good board for my choice? Looks like it did well in that chart.

Any guidance greatly appreciated! cheers.gif

Oops didn't mean to post already. Looking over your post and I'll edit.

That one looks good too! I can't see if it'd the 8+2 VRM. Is it heat sinked well? What makes it better than the gigabyte one for the same price?

Only 6+1 vrm but better results overclocking seen too many posts here showing those boards throttling back the cpu. Other than that the gigabyte does well enough. biggrin.gif just got mine [pro version a little more mulla) stable @ 4.7 ghz tongue.gif on a fx 6300 cheers.gif and the evo looks similar in capabilities pro is technically a 6+2
