Recomend a PSU

Thread Starter
I need a PSU for my current rig. Its a 780I mobo. I need it to be able to power 2 GTX 460 cards, so it needs to have 4 of the proper plugs for this.

Anybody have any suggestions? Im hopefully looking for a used unit, so it doesnt need to be new.

Thanks,
Falcon

Budget, seriously? I get the feeling like the above suggestion is probably not worth much (price not being "no object") if you're considering used at all.

There are way too many models on the market to make realistic suggestions. If you just want a list to look through while cross-checking used prices, the sticky thread recommended list is a place to start.

But unless you can find some nice deals, I'm not sure there's too much motivation to go used unless you're targeting more like $60, considering that you can regularly buy Rosewill Capstone 650W for $90. I mean, what are you expecting to find, Antec HCP-750 for $70 used or something?

If you're looking at absolute cheapest possible that doesn't suck, have you considered using molex adapters to run a card?

edit: okay, there it is... should've just waited for budget

edit2: actually, this was easier than I expected to find.

Antec Signature 650W ($60 used):
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Antec-650W-power-supply-unit-SG-650-TESTED-/191023014481

Rosewill Capstone 650W ($40-55 auction used, $10 shipping):
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Rosewill-CAPSTONE-650-650W-/131087329256

Antec Signature is the highest-quality power supply ever released with efficiency not higher than 80 plus bronze. It flopped terribly in sales because of the price and efficiency, despite it being maybe the best thing available at the time.

edit3: or the Seasonic X for sure below if you're including rebates and can spend the extra

If you wait a couple of hours, the Seasonic X650 Gold will be a Shell Shocker deal at Newegg for $70 after rebate:

I'd shoot for a good 800. 460's can suck down power as i'm sure you know. Corsair is a great option too. dont pay $170 for a 660 watt psu, and before somebody starts *****ing, keep in mind that for 170, you can get a gold that pumps out 1200 watts that will be just as efficient under the same load.

Thats what im looking for Paowidefw.

Will the 650 handle 2 GTX 460's and my 780i with a Q9650 and 4 dims or ram? I also have 4 hard drives and 1 disk drive currently. Considering my Hiper 680w hasnt ever gave me an issue, id assume it would handle it.
