Low fps?

i have only just bought a whole new PC for christmas and i built it myself here are the specs:

XFX 7950gt 512mb
2Gb corsair ram
AMD Athlon 4200+ dual core
Abit kn9 ultra
450w power supply

I run CS:S on low settings and only get around 30fps then i up all the settings and get around 20 fps. I know i should be geting a lot more can someone help me please!!!

Is CS the only game that you have problems in, or does everything seem slow? Let's work some process of elimination here.

Also, could you please go up to the top of the page at User CP and fill in your full system specs? We'll be able to help you a lot better.
