Most games aren't taxing the cores they use by much. In that event having the extra threads should be effective, even if each core is weaker than an intel counterpart.

This requires a supporting monitor and a supporting GPU. There are currently no plans for bringing this to the market. We don't know anything about the cost, how this affects input lag, etc. Literally the only thing we do know is that AMD has showed that it is possible to have a variable refresh rate by using a technology some mobile oriented products have to reduce power consumption.

It's brilliant PR however.

Notice how so many people blindly ate it up?

They saw AMD and FREE, and it's all they needed to hear.

Offtopic
between FX63** and i5 it is like 20-25% usage difference. Streaming - FX 63** between i5/i7 while FX83* is faster than i7.
Intel should clocked higher i3 about +0.5Ghz.

I never understood that - how can i know that my monitor support freesync or G-sync?

The fact that you can use this with existing hardware is perhaps what's more interesting. Not all hardware, no, but it's quite a bit nicer to use existing hardware to accomplish what nVidia wants to use proprietary one for.

What desktop monitors support this?

When will AMD's drivers to fully support FREESYNC be available?

We all know how timely AMD's drivers updates are. wink.gif

Why do you even care? It's not like you're ever gonna use the feature.

I do not know. Which is why this is something to keep tabs on, rather than start whining about wanting to know everything that, at best, about 3 guys on the planet could tell you.

Asking questions = Whining?

Sorry, but based on experience, I know how long things take over at AMD, and it's not a shock if / when things get delayed.

Need I remind you how long it took to fix CF? Speaking of which, has it been FULLY fixed now for Eyefinity as well?

How's that Mantle working out for ya? Wasn't it supposed to be out in December?

You're not asking questions. You're being smug about something and just want to bash people for holding an interest in.

And just like you, I'm still waiting to see if Mantle will deliver.

Where have you been the past few days? Mantle got held back by dice just like their DLC's so they could fix their game.
