Pretty much this AMD is great actually better in price and performance at the resolution I use but they should really bring over the easy custom resolution util from the Firepro line.

I doubt it's supported in any desktop monitor at the moment, considering they demoed laptops. Most likely it's been under development for laptop screen to drop power consumption but now it conviniently fits as a response for G-Sync. And perhaps Nvidia saw the value of it in gaming and created G-Sync based on it. In any case it'll most likely require display manufacturers to create new boards to support it. If this is expensive, I doubt they're too keen on adding the support unless both AMD and Nvidia support the standard, or AMD partners with them to lower costs.
