Been really thinking of upgrading to a new card. As everything else is done to my PC that I wanted to get done. Thinking of doing an upgrade but not sure what I want to go with. Was thinking of doing sli 770 or 760,s what does everyone think I should do. Psu isn't a problem I got a evga 750g psu

Go with a 780/780ti, or 290/290x if you want to go AMD. Anything less would hardly be an upgrade and SLI can have issues.

Get a used 780 is a better option for you
If you want 770 or 760 sli, than it's better to get another 670

For now I sold my 670 ftw. Picked up a Asus 660 oc for the time being till I figure out what I want to do. might even get another as they are cheap and could get another really easy at micro center. I was thinking of tackling my first custom water loop. So then I would doa 780 on water. Time will tell. As that 660 is a huge downgrade and very noticeable playing games.

no sli, go with 780

For what reason no sli. The 780 is a great card don't get me wrong but I can get more performance from sli than a single card. I have run sli many times without a hitch. So I don't see why people say don't do it without an explanation

What resolution are you at auditruth?

I think reason most people say buy best single gpu is because with SLI you are limited with the amount of ram available, i.e most people would likely say you can SLI gtx 660 1.5GB or buy a single gtx 780 3GB (just for example). The problem with this is if say you weer at 1440p monitor resolution, whilst the 660 sli might be powerful enough, it would be limited due to the amount of ram since the amount of ram doesnt double with SLI. So even if you have 2x 1.5GB sli setup, you still only have 1.5gb ram available, it doesnt double to equal 3.

Also benefit of having single gpu setup is you can then SLI in the future if needed.

Thats how I look at it anyways.

780 or better or don't bother.... 760/770 SLI doesn't make much sense when you could just buy another 670.

Any of those SLI options though will have more raw performance than any single GPU in most cases. 2-way SLI is pretty well sorted.

as i said the gtx 670 ftw was sold so that cancels getting another one. As for resolutions i am only 1920 x 1080 and don't plan to go any further. i do plan n adding a second monitor but not to do single screen format. i would only use it to monitor temps etc on my second screen. As i have run dual monitors and didn't like it to much.

as for the card right now the gtx660 isnt cutting it in gaming. Forgot how good my 670 was. on firestrike i was hitting between 6500 and 6600 with the 670 and now best i got was 4665 with the 660. kind of lame. might just pick another one up for now to boost performance till i decide what i want to do.

Also i understand the vram doesn't double as i believe 2gb is good enough for almost anything i play on a single screen monitor. but i will stay open to suggestions. I was leaning towards the single gtx780ti on water anyway. But at the same point it isnt cheap compared to 2 sli 760ti cards.
