More problems w/ XP install (i386 missing)

OK so I am having a hell of a time trying to install XP. Maybe it is because I have not done this in over a year and a half.

This is what I did:

1. I went to the BIOS, set the first boot device to CD-ROM.

2. Loaded into XP install, choose to format existing partition and install XP Pro

3. XP went through the first set of installation stuff and rebooted

4. Computer loads back up into installation and I get an error message stating i386 file is missing, insert CD containing the file.

Is this happening because I should go back into BIOS and set the HDD as the boot device? If not, why is my installation CD missing /i386?

I need to get this up and running or my bills are not going to be paid on time. please help.

Set the first boot device to CD-ROM, the second to hard drive.

When Windows reboots after the first stage of installation don't touch anything and it should then boot off the hard drive
