At CES 2014, California-based Corsair and Germany-based Cherry Corp. are debuting the "MX RGB Project" gaming keyboard. The technology showcase , based on a Vengeance K70 gaming keyboard fitted with new Cherry MX RGB keyswitches, gives gamers a first look at the vast customization and game enhancing benefits of per-key 16.8 million color backlighting.

In the second half of 2014, Corsair will bring the concept to life by launching the world's first Cherry MX RGB-based gaming keyboards. The new keyboards promise to give gamers all of the precision, feel, and reliability of Cherry MX-based Corsair gaming keyboards enhanced with new personalization and gaming customization provided by nearly limitless per-key lighting combinations. The new keyboards will be available in several Cherry switch types: super-fast Cherry MX Red, the light tactile feedback of Cherry MX Brown, or the tactile and audible feedback provided by Cherry MX Blue.

Dam thats really nice. Never had a mechanical keyboard, always read about them but never wanted to spend more than 50 bucks for one....but i guess this will pop my cherry for a mechanical keyboard.

Are these going to be expensive? isaw the k70 during Blk friday for 80-100 buvks i think, wonder how this will be priced.

Im still intrigued by this keyboards different lighting keys. Should come in handy

Hopefully they introduce TKL, 104key, and then a K95 type as well. With the option to have either the clear anodized aluminum or that super sexy black anodized body.

I can dream, right?

I've had to replace quite a few switches on my Filco (spilled juice onto it). To be honest, not that bad (not exactly the nightmare I expected from a plate mounted switch). WASD Code boards should be easier to work with since they already have wiring for LED lighting behind the keys.

I also doubt Corsair will be the only company with access to them for long.

On that same note, are there any decent mech keyboards that use Costar stabilizers?
I believe so.

CM QFRs (which are basically slightly lower quality Filcos, but at a much more appealing price).

That's what I've been waiting to hear.
