Good 3D monitor for gaming on AMD Radeon HD6670 1 GB GDDR5 using AMD HD3D

Hi Guyz,

I'm planning to buy a monitor for gaming purposes, what I want out of a monitor is a great picture quality, reliability/build quality, and low response time since I mostly play FPS (Crysis 3, metro 2033, Spec Ops: The Line, to name a few). I planned for the Dell Ultra Sharp U2713H which is 2560x1440 but it is too pricey (~INR 40,000/-), I wanted something in near ~INR 15,000/- (20,000 if really worthy).
The Dell Ultra Sharp U2412 seems too good, but then even the Samsung LS23A700DSL (or S23A700D) is great one both with their own pros & cons.
Till now I've been using my old Lenovo 17" CRT @ 1280x1024 which was good, but nothing compared to LED (TN/IPS).
I'm just confused which one to go for, The U2412 is great its IPS and very bright but response time is 8 ms, refresh 60 Hz & so not 3D, but LS23A700DSL is 120 Hz, 3D ready, 2 ms response time all great thing except that its TN not IPS.
If the LS23A700DSL's 3D is able to work with my HD6670 then great (anyways a GFX upgrade is also planned, so 3D support is good to have) but even if it doesn't no issues, I just want to know which one would be better and how??
If you can suggest anything else then please do, it'll be very helpful

EDIT: I've found another great monitor Philips 238G4DHSD IPS Panel, passive 3D good response time, etc...
Also, can someone summarize differences and pros/cons of active vs passive 3d, I also want to know which monitor would be best for 3D gaming on AMD Radeon GFX

Also it'll be great to know of some stereoscopic 3d monitors compatible with AMD Radeon's HD3D Technology.
As you can see in my right I own a Sapphire HD6670 1 GB GDDR5 GFX, so just want to know what may I expect from my card in case of 3d gaming at 1080p or if not at 900p

I'm not too sure if that card would e able to push that many frames on those 1080p monitors. Here's a link to AMD's supported list of HD3D monitors. From my personal experiences, the Samsung's are really great followed by LG cinema 3D's.

I've had a look at the look at the list on amd website, I also looked at the tridef website for tridef supported monitors which can work with amd hd3d, but I just can't find any monitor that can do stereoscopic 3d on amd cards. As for this card, it's life is about to get over, I'll be buying a 290X soon.

Just for gaming and other 3D stuff.

I guess..............
I guess the alternative to 3D monitors might be the HMD 3D/VR headsets like the one by Sony and the popular Occulus Rift Cryctal Cove or any other which I haven't heard of? Do they work with AMD Cards (esp. the R9 series)

Asus 3D monitors are good if you want the gpu to render the 3d images although your HD6670 wont be able to handle AMD HD3D of games after year 2008.
Keep in mind that if the gpu will be the one to render in 3d, it needs to push 120fps average.

I suggest you go for an LG 3D tv, that way the HD6670 will only render the game as normal and the tv will be the one to convert it to 3d. Its not as good as amd hd3d but at least you get higher fps.
My friend has an HD6670 and currently uses it with a 46" LG 3dtv.

If you want to use the gpu and a 3dmonitor, I think you'll need at least a GTX670 or HD7950

Yeah definitely, 6670 is not ideal for 3D stuff, as I said I'll be upgrading to 290X soon.

Since it's been long time since I asked this question, I've had an inclination towards HMD VR headsets like Occulus Rift/Crystal Cove and similar provided they can work with the 290X since they will provide too damn immersive gameplay or even VR gameplay.

I guess 700D would be the best choice, I can have 120Hz @ 1080p over DL-DVI and 3D over HDMI (I guess only 30Hz per eye at 1080p).

Will I be able to use 3D over DL-DVI so that I can get 60Hz per eye at 1080p?? Considering that I'll upgrade to R9 290 soon it is important to have 60Hz at 1080p in 3D mode.
