GTX 770 SLI or GTX 780 for 1080p 144hz?

I am looking at buying a asus vg248qe 144hz monitor, I currently have a gtx 770 2gb card and have the cash to either step up to a gtx 780 or buy another gtx 770.

I really don't care much about it only being 1080p, I am a single monitor person.. but I want what can give me good performance.. is 2gb going to hold me back from getting 80+ fps in games? I really only play bf4 right now so thats my main concern. I could get the gtx 780 but I really don't know the next time I would really ever have about $600 to spend to upgrade again, I know I can get a second card and monitor right now though. My psu can handle it.

hi,
if you want to use the asus vg248qe monitor in bf4 @ 1080p @ ultra with antialiasing @ 144hz, you must buy 3 gtx 780.

IMHO, the best solution is to sell the gtx 770 and buy a gtx 780, normally @ ultra in bf4 a single gtx 780 render 70-80 fps, and gave you the possibility to upgrade with the second.

i have 3 gtx 780 and asus vg248qe, with 3930k @4.5 ghz .

1 gtx 780 = 70-80 fps
2 gtx 780 = 120-130 fps
3 gtx 780 = 140 +

I hope I was helpful signing

p.s. this is my first post in overclock.net and the english is not my first language.. biggrin.gif

p.s2.: the asus vg248qe is the first monitor with the G-sync feature ( coming soon with a module )

well I have a i7 4770k and gigabyte ud4h sitting next to me.. I am also considering a gtx 780 ti.

I understand none of the cards can effectively max out 144hz refresh rate monitors.. but obviously it will be smooth frames all the way up to 144hz, right now i get 60-80 and it hiccups in bf4 even with v sync on i get tearing. sick of it

When I play BF4 with a 780Ti Classy with stock(1020mhz) with 3770k @4.7, I usually see around 100 average, with occasional dips on some maps and 150+ on some other maps. Hope this helps.
