i dont like the words " future proofing" because in the future, games will be more demanding than these cards today are designed to run smoothly, so the only way to really "future proof" would be to get 3 or even 4 of these cards to enjoy smooth fps, and then who knows, games then might be using 10gb of vram each tongue.gif

thats why i buy for now and dont plan to keep any of my cards for more than a year...or even 6 months really lol.

constantly upgrading, constanting buying and selling new and old tongue.gif never ending cycle lol.

I just want to buy a single one now and not have to buy another for about 2-3 years. I could wait for the 790 if the price is right.

the 790 will probably be the price of two 780s + 100 or so, and perform worse than two 780s because it will be clocked way lower and probably have less overclocking headroom....why? nvidia....thats why.

if you want the performance of a 790, just buy two 780s now and save yourself $100 to $150.
