[CL] Corsair Announces AX1500i 80+ Titanium Power Supply - Page 5

80+ Titanium? Why couldn't they call it 90+ or something? Seems more fitting for the efficiency numbers they're getting.

I know, right? To be fair, the EPRI guys have branded "80 PLUS" and want to keep it. Titanium hasn't even officially been ratified yet, except for the 230V spec.

The 1500i has a nice feature on the Fanless mode - up to around 600W before the fan turns on. We're running a 4 way crossfire with 280 X cards and an X79 based overclocked setup, during furmark and prime 100% loads it's producing 850-900W output, and the fan only spins up to ~400 rpm. Dead silent, if the GPUs would cooperate. Heh.

This is a VERY good reason to pick up the AX1500i. I had to modify my Seasonic X-1250W with a gentle typhoon fan just to get it to quiet down under full load. Since my warranty is blown on that PSU, should it die, I'll pick up an AX1500i. thumb.gif

600*.05 = 30W of heat given off. That's less than a 40W lightbulb.

Oooo this will be good for people who OC their CPU and that crazy bios 200% power for sli or more GPUs. I want one now. Cuz my seasonic 1k platinum gives me hard shut downs when overclocking 1.35v for them. Chit, now to convince my gf to get me it. biggrin.gif

It supports Single rail which is a big + for heavy OC'ers w/ Tri-Sli+

The Lepa is multirail which requires you to combine rails, for me I prefer less cables running around the case that's all. Was originally looking @ the Lepa till I read that though.

I'm ready to buy this PSU but just want to be sure of eVGA's prior. According to Jacob from eVGA they're supposedly releasing the PSU this month which is better than waiting till Q2 for Corsair IF it lives up to expectations.

I'd rather wait for this Psu then waste money on an EVGA one
