Help Choosing New Router Please!

Thread Starter
Hey guys I'm looking to get a new router my ISP Modem/Router wifi capabilities are seeming lacking and have no features, and I now own a couple 802.11ac devices and feel it's time to get a new router.

I want a top of the line router price really isn't a issue willing to spend up to $350 , it obviously has to me 802.11ac and have features like being able to hook up a USB3.0 HDD, DNLA support (newb with that) , and being able to access it outside of my network via internet isn't a must but a bonus.

I was looking at the Asus RT-AC68U AC1900 802.11ac router but looking at reviews on newegg looks like that router has serious problems after a week or two of running , so I don't know if I should buy that , I've dealt with to many crap routers in the past especially netgear routers and I don't want to have headaches if I'm spending good money, please don't recommend me cheap routers for the sake saving me money when there is something that potentially will perform better, I want the best available but I don't want a lemon.

Thanks guys!

i dont really have an answer for you, because im in the same boat. big review sites like cnet and couple others have nothing but great things to say about the 68u,and the nighthawk. then you have the customer side saying theres a lot of problems with degrading wifi and so on.

i been watching a couple forums hoping people that have these router would chime in and give us there results. maybe can get some answers here on ocn?
