the ones I tested were from builds I did for others. after complaints from people with the 750, 850w versions of the gold series I had them bring the units over and tested them all with my computer. running furmark and a pair of gtx 480's they were all louder than my hx 750. two of them had some defect where the fan would just go to full blast no matter what the load was. corsair replaced those two for the guys. there have been a bunch of such cases over the past couple years too. could be the type of fan used, but in some case it is just defective. I've read a few threads about the hx 1050 fan on corsair's forums. it's likely just as this whole coil whine thing. the seasonic x series is supposedly notorious for coil whine, but the ones I've worked with don't have any. I can find dozens, maybe well over a hundred unique complaints about it though in an hour of searching.Edited by PureBlackFire - 1/7/14 at 10:03am
