That squishy thud sound of that sticky nade connecting...,good times, good times.

A friend of mine owned a game store when Halo first came out, and he immediately purchased 3 36" Sony WEGA televisions and hooked 3 consoles up. After store hours he would lock the doors and we would all go meet up at the store and play until damn near opening the next day.

We were killing each other so fast bodies weren't de-spawning quick enough, and we would crash the Prisoner map!

If Titanfall captures even 3/4 of what Halo had....that would be so amazing. Although that is a massively tall order to fill. Here is hoping for the best!

You honestly don't think a game directory saying "I hope you at least give it a try" when there is no way to "give it a try" beyond paying for the full game, sounds a bit greedy?

If there had been an open beta, or a demo, or some way to try it out, there would be no issues with people speculating about how good the game will or will not be. That's why people speculate, they want to decide if it's worth the money or not. If the people behind the game have an issue with the speculation and are so confident in their game, they should give us a way to try it out before we commit to buying it.

By the way, just to clear this up, I've had Titanfall preordered for like a month now, and none of the recent news has had any effect on that. I'm confident in Respawn and I love mech games, so my money is down. I'm just saying, if they have a problem with criticism from people who haven't played it, they should give those people a way to play it.

Not really, I guess I didn't read anything he said as malicious... If I had just spent three years designing a video game, I'd probably say the exact same thing. "I hope you give it a try!"

That said, I read the whole thing as more of a "give the game a chance to release before you call it a failure" than a "buy my game and find out if you like it."

As a complete side-note, this release is timed really well, there are literally no other big budget games (that I'm aware of) releasing at the same time.

TF2 was only designed around 12v12, but damned if I don't prefer the unofficial 16v16 servers.

I do think you are onto the actual issue, it's their matchmaking server model using M$ azure that could be really behind this. It's clear that the typical dedicated servers handled by GSP's is not the model they are going to support.

Remember, Respawn is basically Infinity Ward renamed, you remember, the guys that brought us such technological marvels as IW.net and their peer to peer multi-player.

So, they will have the game locked down to only their M$ servers, no player control at all, which will keep you tuned into their formidable DLC campaign as well as Titanfall 2 whenever that suits there fancy. I'm guessing this will evolve into a yearly thing, ala COD.

I guess that's another way to look at it. I just didn't find "I hope you'll give it a try!" to be very...confident I guess? He's basically still saying some people won't like it even after buying it, which is probably realistic because that does happen with every game, but still, I think if he had said something more along the lines of "our game is going to be awesome, please support us", I'd have taken it better.

and yeah, it's pretty much the only game I'm looking forward to in the near future. I've got some friends who are excited about the new Diablo expansion, which is also in March, so I may or may not be playing that as well. Besides those two, there's nothing for PC on my radar for the next 3 months.

After seeing all the trailers and advertisements for this game, this news is extremely disappointing. I was expecting significantly more players than 12 on a server.

How come? The videos never showed that....

I am kind of excited about a high pace compact battle like the original Halo.

Right now, AI is being scaled. In some games it's incredibly easy, in others you get blown away and it's a horror show -- It is what it is because it's being tuned.

You can't sit there and pedestal this by saying "Ai is going to be a cakewalk" when it's not even tuned correctly yet.

In the grand SCHEME of things, you shot from the hip, missed big-time about a product you have 0 experience with, thus the attitude.

Oh I miss that before Reach where i think it was practically impossible to survive a sticky bomb the big smerk I'd have on my face because it's inevitable death

Hm, I didn't think about the AI serving something along the lines of a MOBA minion, basically helpers pushing towards an objective. Sure it's basically cannon fodder, and that's still not exactly a salve for what I'm guessing people were expecting (12 v. 12+, where there at least 4 titans fighting per side and everyone else is wallhopping and what not to their objectives). That's interesting, but I think I'd still prefer it to be a more fluid Hawken, which can get really hectic on large player count servers. Won't pre-order, but hopefully they continue to engage the community and not rush in release.
