Thread Starter
I think ive narrowed my build down to be based of either the fx8350 or i5 4670k....

Im just having a hard time deciding.

I know the amd consumes more power and generates a bit of heat, also doesnt perform as good on single thread applications. But keep hearing that the console market will push future games to use 8 cores and would benefit. Plus would be fun to watercool and see how far i could push it.

But i almost always read the i5 performs better and not much more expensive. Plus ive always ran intels and my last q6600 has been great for me since around 08.

Budget isnt the main concern but read the i7 4770k doesnt really improve anything for gaming with HT to justify its cost.... or will this change in the future?

I need something that performs great, will take an overclock and last me 5 years.

Thanks again

i personally would go with the 8350 purely for the thread count. The new consoles are all 8 core, and consoles drive game design. It's very possible you wold run out of threads in a few years.
