Ahh I see, yeah it does take its time. I think we have it a little better here in Europe as we have more servers to choose from

If I were a crypto coin miner, I would love AMD right now because I could avoid their significant driver and software problems in games. But I have better things to do than waste nearly 1000$ IN GPUs just to have issues. Which is what happened with 5870CF and 7970CF.

Like I said, nvidia isn't perfect. But one thing i've noticed is that they generally deliver on promises. Which is something AMD never does. So I was greatly amused when seeing the news about free-sync, and guess what? Like everything else AMD has done, it's full of half truth. You AMD fans eat it up though. Whatever. I've been there. I used to buy AMD GPUs. I used to listen to their half-truths. I now know better.

I used to actually begrudge nvidia for their pricing. But like I said. I want to enjoy gaming and I want to enjoy my GPu purchases. Not pull my hair out over issues. And crossfire eyefinity on 79xx and earlier cards STILL have issues. NOT FIXED. Years later. Yet you AMD guys will just completely ignore that and pretend AMD are saints. Pretend that they will deliver on their promises. And here they are promising the world again with free-sync. Go ahead and buy into the "great hope". Been there done that with eyefinity CF, HD3D, among many other things. I know better than to trust them, but by all means you can trust them all you want.

Sorry, but it's hard to take you seriously when the majority of your posts make the devil look like saints compared to AMD.

So in forums, facebook pages, youtube comments etc. people can call g-sync buyers suckers and tell people to go AMD so they can wait for free-sync.

When in reality

-Free-sync has no schedule for coming to any desktop system
-You're definitely going to need a new monitor with added costs for including the feature
-You might need a new GPU
-All of this might be years away, especially if you look at the adoption rate of previous display port iterations.
-In order to get the same animation smoothness (notice how AMD didn't even claim anything about input lag) as g-sync you're going to be left with forcing triple buffering through AMD's drivers.

And with g-sync:

-the module does everything for you, no need for extra vsync methods from the drivers
-you're guaranteed no added input lag
-You can get it possibly years in advance
-you pay a bit more

Still sounds a lot like 3d-vision vs. 3DHD to me.
If that quote is accurate then a firmware update can't really do anything. If AMD didn't specifically say that it can definitely be done and Nvidia says that it can't be done then there's about a 99% chance that it can't be done.

Lots of "maybe" and "possibly" from AMD and a straight no from Nvidia translates to a pretty strong no.
Finally a really user tha understood the situation.

This thread is hilarious to read through. Personally, I don't see what the fuss is about. Sure, we'll need new monitors for freesync and cards since DP 1.3 isn't out yet, but at least it's not a pointless proprietary chip.

I vote for thicker skins. People need to stop with the "you're hurting my feelings" routines. Grow a pair.

Haha, no doubt. Have you been into a nvidia driver thread lately? I only poke my head in cos i have a couple of mates with nvidia cards who have issues with running bf4, I don't ever say anything because if the roles were reversed and we were having the issues they are having with their cards i would be pretty annoyed if some nvidia "enthusiast" piped in with "It's running sweet for me", but let it be known xoleras most of the AMD users are well aware of the state of nvidia drivers. Not quite as well as you make out. I believe bf4 even requires EVERYONE to use a driver like 327.xx and up? Like no driver before that can be used for bf4?? To bad if you like playing a game that is better with a earlier driver lol. Yeah no issues with nvidia drivers.

No it's not. If a game works fine with Nvidia and not for AMD it's driver issues for AMD by your reasoning yet if it works fine for AMD but not Nvidia "the game is broken" ? LOL. No wonder you have never had issues with Nvidia drivers then, you say it's always the game!!! LOL.
