This. I simply love 120hz. Can't see going back to 60hz. Or 30hz if I read that right.

I just purchased a new monitor...I was planning to go for 120Hz, but then I would have had to stay at 1080p and do a massive GPU upgrade to get enough power to run newer games that fast. Then a really good deal came along on a 2560x1440...I've seen 120hz at 1080p a fair amount, but I haven't had hands on a 1440p monitor much. Wow did I make the right choice. Right now I am at 1440p @ 67Hz, but I am hoping to get things tweaked so I a have a refresh rate of about 85Hz. We will see...I doubt it will work though. It works fine at 67Hz, but if I go higher my fps will lock at 51fps for some reason (with vsync on). Has any one seen this before? I have a few theories, but I haven't seen this before and haven't had a chance to mess with it a lot. My old crud 1080p monitor managed to get 75Hz mad.gif

However, this higher resolution is amazing. Lacks the feel of 120Hz, but dang...it looks nice and I can basically turn AA off. I was thinking a monitor upgrade would spur my need for a GPU upgrade, but I think I might have actually extended the lifetime of my old 580.

The Lenovo 4k Monitor might be $100 more, but it seems to be the superior product between the two.

The VP2770 is great if you can get one without poor backlighting. It has a nice AG coating unlike Dell's Ultrasharp line. I get that I'm biased, but I've used a couple of Ultrasharps and they do have very aggressive AG coating.
Well I've got a Viewsonic VX2370Smh-LED right next to a Dell U2312HM and I can say the AG coating on the Ultrasharp is just miles better. Same price and includes a displayport instead of a HDMI and a USB hub as well, will tilt backwards/forwards as well as move up and down.

Oh I don't doubt it is a good monitor, just that after using a 27" or a 30" for my past couple monitors I am not sure I can go back to a 24. My U2311H looks tiny next to my U2713HM

We're not talking about the VX2370. The VP2770 has all the adjustment features (height, tilt, pivot, swivel) and has less harsh AG coating than the Ultrasharps. It has VGA, DVI, HDMI and DP inputs and it has a USB 3.0 USB hub just like the Ultrasharps.

I'm sorry that you hate your monitor and that it broke so many times, but that doesn't affect the VP2770. The U2713HM and the VP2770 are fairly equal feature wise so only the display quality and price should affect his choice.

So... Can 4K monitors also do 2560x1600 and 2560x1440 at 60Hz or if the monitor only does 4K at 30Hz will all other resolutions also top out at 30Hz? redface.gif

This Dell one claims to do 1920x1080 at 60hz....the author doesn't mention 2560x1440 though.

It's funny, the incredible clarity of 4K on a 24" makes it "seem" larger, it's actually quite impressive. It's something you would just have to see in person.
